FAQs

  • Please see the compatibility chart in the Installation tab.

  • A: No, you may use standard strings. However, we recommend that you use string sets that have matching total tension. See the Installation tab for recommended string sets for full tremolo. If you're blocking the tremolo you may use different total set tension.

  • Likely not. Although the guitars might have the "same" scale length, the manufacturing process usually allows some scale length variation. Even small variations in scale length will make a very noticeable change in the tuning. Even the same guitar models have variations in scale length.

  • No, if you use the recommended string gauges as listed in the Installation tab, you'll retain full tremolo functionality. You may choose to block the tremolo to prevent it from moving back and that will allow you to use non matching total tension on the different modules.

  • No, most likely if you're wanting to drop the lower E string to D, you also blocked the bridge to prevent the other strings from going sharp. In this case you can simply use the fine tuner to drop the low E string a full step.

  • Yes, we recommend that you use 4 screws to secure the nut to the guitar neck. If you don't use 4 screws, the nut will rock back and forth and will not maintain proper tuning.

  • No, you only adjust the intonation the first time you install the strings in each module.

  • Technically yes, but if your guitar has one of the compatible tremolo system you can retrofit it with a MISTRESS.
